Oxygen Infusion and Homeosiniatry in the Treatment of Skin Aging

Prof. Giovanni Posabella

In the field of aesthetic medicine, homeosiniatry and the oxygen infusion technique are a new
development.

Thanks to recently acquired knowledge about the neuro-physiology of the mechanisms at work in acupuncture and the new method of administering active ingredients, combining the two
techniques makes for an optimization: transporting homeotoxicological pharmaceuticals with
Oxygen Infusion at the acupunctural points results in an extremely low incidence of side-effects, at the same time as it permits the practitioner to personalize therapy.

Connective tissue exists right from under the basal epidermis membrane and continues into the Oxygen Infusion, prerogative of MBE systems, consists in the emission of O2 using a mechanical
instrument which produces oxygen at a purity level between 94% and 98%, emitting it at a
pressure of more than 2 atmospheres.

This treatment, which is extremely simple to perform, consists in delivering injectable, sterile,
apyretic homeopathic and homeotoxicological pharmaceuticals directly into the trigger areas and/or the locoregional and distal points.

This is a combined technique, where the possibilities offered by homeopathic-homeotoxicological
remedies are associated with the results of the stimulation of the reflex areas, which, as is well
known, are rich in receptors. The effects of this treatment are synergizing and are enhanced due to
the presence of Oxygen. Homeosyniatric points are metameric points: the action mechanism can be understood in neurophysiological and neuroreflexological terms.

Hyperbaric Oxygen Infusion is an innovative application which is able to transport deep into the
derma pressurized oxygen and active substances, formerly applied to the skin. It would be more precise to say that we are talking about a "pulsed" transfer of pure oxygen at hyperbaric pressure into the intercellular spaces, which results in a much improved cellular respiration and peripheral circulation and in the restoration of elasticity and luminosity to the skin.

This is an innovative path to follow when trying to avoid the use of needles in bio-revitalisation and
mesotherapy, and it is for this reason that I use it in clinical applications, especially in the case of
circulatory pathologies and where patients are sensitive to and intolerant to needles.

Localized perfusion of oxygen and active substances are an ideal complement to bio-revitalising
facial treatments and mesotherapeutic body treatments. I have treated patients using GUNA MD-Tissue and MD_Matrix, vectored by a serum containing anti-oxydants and polypeptides of natural origin. Besides the vector excipient, GUNA MD contains swine collagen.

Swine tissue has an average very high collagen content (glycin 22.8%, prolyn 13'8%, hydroxynprolyn 13%). Other amino acids barely reach 3%. The reason this bio-material is introduced in loco, together with up to 98% pure oxygen at a pressure of more than 2 atmospheres, is structural. It is used to replace, reinforce, structure, and protect, improving the state of the collagen fibres and consequently of all those anatomical structures in which they are present, thus supplying a mechanical support to the treated area.

In addition, besides forming an efficacious natural support framework, the presence of oxygen improves the bio-availability of the active ingredients, thereby favouring angiogenesis.
